Appearing successful for others to see and envy on social media with material possessions that give short term happiness or validation = FAKE HAPPINESS and the OLD STATUS SYMBOL
Don’t be fooled. Real happiness is FREEDOM. TIME freedom, LOCATION freedom & FINANCIAL freedom.
FREEDOM & HEALTH are the REAL STATUS SYMBOL of REAL HAPPINESS. Here’s why.
Why is it that the common narrative on motivational social media accounts all about people in suits, super cars, big houses, money, fame and planes? Why do we have to always see or project men in suits as an example of successful or powerful people or someone flaunting an expensive car that could be just leased, a huge house that possibly isn’t paid yet, or a private plane that was just rented? I think that we have to change this age old narrative already. I mean, is this how we are really going to measure success, with tangible materials instead of real genuine happiness? Faking it until you make it isn’t gonna work anymore in today’s society. People see through your BS now, especially when you’re put in the spotlight already. You’re stuck in that narrative that you appear successful with you material wealth.
Is your happiness truly hinged on material things nowadays? Buying things to impress people we don’t even give a single f*ck about or know. Showing people that success is based on you own material wealth doesn’t equal to real happiness.
How about we talk about how really happy you truly are without eyes or a camera on you, when you’re all alone? I wish that people would see true happiness as the real measurement of wealth, health and success, not by how much wealth we’ve amassed in this lifetime, but what value we’ve left as our own legacy during our lifetime. How about we talk about what value we’ve given, instead of what wealth we’ve taken? How about we measure those instead?
It’s not about how much you make. It’s about how much you spend. Then you will realize and appreciate what you truly have, with the real people that truly matter to you, right beside you.
Last note, why buy a bag that’s worth $500 and have $50 in it to feel good for yourself or validate your wealth to someone you don’t give a damn, when you can have a bag that’s worth $50 and have $500 in it to spend with the person you care about the most? You decide.
*Photos and captions in it are trash. Don’t mind the BS.

I agree with this. Unfortunately, millennials and Gen Zs are like this. They worry more on their popularity status rather than their real status. Others even think they just need to purchase this item as long as they belong to the trend, then later on regretting on that purchase.
People, be realistic. Like what my uncle has taught me. “When buying an item, ask yourself.. is it a NEED, or is it a WANT?” these are two different things. Get what you NEED, and think over what you WANT.
