The sheer importance of branding

The sheer importance of branding

I keep talking about how important branding is and here’s what I learned being so brand conscious myself as a kid growing up due to 3 things: 1. Family influence 2. Peer Pressure studying in a private school and 3. Marketing influence (TV, Billboards, Magazine). So many people tend to buy brand names no matter if it’s good quality or not, good looking or not. So much relies on branding for a brand to be successful and it’s sale pricing has a lot to do with, yes, branding. People may look at it as funny, but shouldn’t it be the other way around, that brands pay you to wear a large bold logo of their brand rather paying outrageous amounts to wear it for “exclusivity”?

A brand is psychological, it makes a lot of people feel good about themselves when using something that’s 20-50x of what it’s really worth. While a brand sometimes does portray quality, some brands just portray someone’s status quo or how much someone is really spending to keep that short sense of fulfillment going.

I’ll talk more about branding tomorrow. Same time. Out.

Question of the day: What are your top 3 favorite brands to wear?

Top 3 clothing brands for me would be Uniqlo, Under Armour, and H&M. I like these brands not because of the brand itself, but the style of the clothes they offer, the fit, and the comfortability as well
